Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Off-Grid Power System for School PCs, Hospital & School in Nigeria
A look at the Village Solar Power Systems

During 2007 - 2008, to learn Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Power System Engineering, at the Solar Living Institute (SLI) I took the following several all-day, multi-day intensive bootcamp Workshops:
PV 190 Design and Install an Off-Grid RE System,
PV 290 Off-Grid Systems for Professionals,
PV 121 PV Design & Installation Intensive &
PV 221 Advanced Photovoltaics, as team taught by SLI Instructors &
NABCEP certified solar consultants/installers
Doug Livingston,
Ryan LeBlanc &
Alex Aragon.
I also took, just before
SolFest (SLI's annual AT Expo), the following
Pre-SolFest Industry Trainings:
PV 414 Charge Controller and Off-Grid Inverter Installation (taught by
Midnite Solar Founder Robin Gudgel) &
PV 434 Micro-Inverter Systems Introduction and Installation (taught by
Enphase Energy Micro-inverter System Application Engineer Jeff Laughy).
.
The Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Power System pictured above is one of several used for the SLI Solar PV Workshops Lab Exercises. This particular system also provides all electric power for the SLI Workshops classroom, a large building of Mongolian architectural design, made popular (& provided) by the Colorado Yurt Company. Generating several Kilowatts of power & serving a classroom, the system is pretty much a perfect fit as a design model for our "Solar Power for School in Nigeria" project. Below is a detailed summary of the systems' components & features.
